Downtown Louisville's SoBro (South Broadway) district runs from Broadway, between Ninth and Brook Streets, down to Kentucky Street. It also runs down Eighth and Ninth streets through part of Old Louisville to Hill Street. The SoBro district has been subject to many on-going revitalization efforts. The neighborhood has already incorporated a Beta Bus Stop project and multiple tree plantings and beautification projects, and murals are in the works. Luckett & Farley's recent purchase of a historic building at the corner of South Third and York streets, will only enhance the are. The plans are to turn the building into a mixed-use development. SoBro's main tenants are the Kentucky College of Art + Design, Spalding University, the Main Campus of the Louisville Free Public Library and the 800 Tower City Apartments on South Fourth Streets. The 800 Tower City Apartments have undergone a $10 million facelift and is posed to be one of the more exclusive downtown residential options.
