South Louisville

Churchill Downs-Holy Name Church

No doubt, South Louisville is most famous for the Churchill Downs race track and host of the famed Kentucky Derby. Outside of Churchill Downs neighborhoods such as Taylor-Berry, Wilder Park and Wyandotte (also called Oakdale) are close to Iroquois Park, Southern Parkway and delicious diners.

The once bustling Highland Park neighborhood was razed as part of the Louisville International Airport expansion. Most of what was once Highland Park is now vacant, and has not been developed by the airport.
