Highlands-Douglass Loop Farmer's Market

The popular Highlands area is centered along a three-mile stretch of Bardstown Road and Baxter Avenue. It contains a high density of bars, eclectic shops, pedestrian-friendly shopping and many upscale and fast-food restaurants. There are many residential areas including single-family houses, condos, apartments and some of the most expensive streets in Louisville. Many young professionals are attracted to the area for its location near downtown and amenities such as Cherokee Park, Tyler Park, Seneca Park and for its liberal attitude and lively nightlife.

Today eight other neighborhoods (Cherokee Triangle, Seneca Gardens, Bowman, Tyler Park, Deer Park, Bonnycastle, Douglass and Belknap) collectively compose The Highlands neighborhood. The Original Highlands name developed to distinguish it from these neighborhoods.
