North East

Springhurst-Paddock Shops

When you hear the term "Outside the Watterson," it often refers to the east end suburbs of Louisville, such as Northfield, Glenview, Prospect, Green Spring, Barbourmeade, Woods of St. Thomas, Springhurst and Norton Commons.  Families flock to these neighborhoods due to their location to prime shopping spots such as The Paddock Shops,  amenities and expressways. Each has its own identity. For example, Norton Commons is Louisville's answer to New Urbanism, where residential, commercial and retail meld together within one large community. One of the wealthiest communities in Kentucky, Glenview, is known for its old estate homes overlooking the Ohio River, many of which are on the National Register of Historic Places. Prospect lies partially in Louisville and partially within Oldham County and is known for its large lot sizes.
