Newburg-Newburg Library

Fern Creek is a historic community in southeastern Louisville (The oldest structure in the area is a log home dates back to 1789.). The area was originally agricultural but in the 1960s became more suburban. Nearby, Okolona is home to one of the city's largest shopping areas on the South End, Jefferson Mall. Another close Southside neighborhood, Newburg, is a predominantly black suburb. In 2009, the Louisville Free Public Library opened a 8,300-square-foot Newberg branch library.
